Fr. Vincent Twomey, after being awarded Doctor of Sacred Theology (summa cum laude) under the supervision of Professor Joseph Ratzinger on the University of Regensburg 1979, he taught dogmatic theology at Holy Spirit Regional Seminary, Papua New Guinea (1978-1981) and at the SVD Faculty of Theology near Vienna, Austria (1982-1983) – before his appointment first as lecturer in Moral Theology (1983) and then as Professor (2004) at the Pontifical University, Maynooth, Ireland. He was a founding member of the Ratzinger Schülerkreis (1978 – 2022). His more recent publications include: Benedict XVI. The Conscience of Our Age: A theological Portrait (San Francisco, 2007); The Joseph Ratzinger’s Theology of Liturgy: An Interpretation (San Francisco, 2022).
Rev. Seán Corkery, a priest of the Diocese of Cloyne. Ordained in 2008, he is currently Coordinator of Human and Pastoral Formation at St Patrick’s National Seminary, Maynooth. He pursued his licentiate and doctoral studies on the writings of Joseph Ratzinger. He is author of the book A Liberation Ecclesiology? The Quest for Authentic Freedom in Joseph Ratzinger’s Theology of the Church (Peter Lang, 2015).
